"What they're frightened of today are exactly the same things they were frightened of yesterday"

Happy Halloween, everyone! My favorite part of Halloween is seeing everyone's costumes. The things people come up with are so creative and quirky. It's so fun to dress up and feel like an entirely different person for a night. Danced and partied the night away with friends and ended the evening with my long-held tradition: watching 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown'. The end of October reminds me that fall is officially here. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and all those traditions that surround my favorite holiday. It just wouldn't be the same without good company, amazing food and Macy's thanksgiving day parade.

"Too many things I haven't done yet, Too many sunsets I haven't seen"

El Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid, Spain. http://www.museodelprado.es/
Apparently even Sara Bareilles hasn't made a large dent in her bucket list...
I guess maybe all this talk about my future lately and the stress of figuring out my major  is making me antsy to get out there. travel. explore. fast-forward to when I have a fabulous career. Sadly a time travel machine is a bit out of my budget range, so I guess I'll have to stick with studying abroad next year...I'm strongly considering Spain. Check out the website for El Museo del Prado...SO enticing. It had me at Renoir.

On an entirely different note...so excited to pull out the hair bow, sequins and my best "poker face" this weekend. I heart halloween.

This has been a staple in our kitchen, and often gets dusted off for birthdays when the famous Chocolate Domingo Cake makes an appearance. Yummm

First Post

So I am completely new to this whole world of blogging. I could barely even come up with a title for my blog. This one came from an Ingrid Michaelson song, I liked its rhyming quality and the simplification of time. It makes you wonder, are birthday cakes representative of childhood? and fast mistakes just a blur of time after her youth? Whatever her reasoning, I think it accurately describes my journey through life: bumpy and slightly naive, but still hopeful. I hope that this blog becomes a place where I can share my discoveries and newfound interests because everyday I seem to learn something new: whether it be from blowing out candles on a sugary confection, or clumsily losing my balance if only for a second...
